Helping our clients to bring their visions to life is truly the best part of our work. We are committed to building relationships that last⏤with clients, with landscapes, and with the earth herself. One of our core values is "take care of one another" and that expresses itself in our outstanding client relationships.

From the first site visit, I enjoyed just watching you read the site⏤seeing how water flowed naturally, for example. You are very good listeners. You found a way to incorporate everything I wanted while staying in integrity with the ecological systems. I was so awestruck! I loved the plan, especially that it was not a drastic change to what we already loved about the natural beauty of the acreage, and hoped to restore."
You were on-time, communicative, upfront about costs. Honestly, I thought it would cost a lot more, and found that your pricing was extremely fair and excellent! I’ve worked with so many contractors over the years that did things their way, and they just don’t listen. I love it when someone looks me in the eye and listens like you did. You responded with thoughtful ideas."

This obviously wasn’t their first rodeo, yet they are still creative, inspired, and flexible. They are living embodiments of what they do. It was clear from the beginning that I wasn’t working with someone who had just picked up a book on the subject. Their responsiveness has always been awesome. I have worked with many contractors, and sometimes you suggest they do something differently and they just look at you sideways. Shades of Green, on the other hand, is responsive to questions and suggestions. They brought me into the process, they held my hand, they gave me the what and the why, and their follow-up was outstanding."

The best part of the design and installation has been observing how well it works and constantly being surprised by what’s growing without having to slave over it. It’s also great watching my 2-year-old daughter start saying things like 'cool tree' and plucking kale, saying 'duck pond' and experiencing the outside in a beautiful way. The landscape is so much more than just a garden⏤it’s walkable, beautiful, enjoyable, and totally interconnected. It’s a whole system you can live in! There is so much life!"

Their design reduced the amount of grass, so instead of mowing and adding chemicals, I am growing my own fertilizer for the garden with comfrey and other soil-building plants. They did a great job of mixing ornamental and functional plants, and I now have more space allocated to edibles that also enhance the beauty. They are knowledgeable, professional, and they work with nature not against it. If someone wants a design to reflect natural beauty, I would hands down highly recommend them first!"

You have shown me that the landscape is not static, and have helped me see how it is always evolving. You have encouraged me to be creative, and I have grown to admire my farm even more, now that I’m aware of its potential. Y'all are curious and inspired, and have never made me feel like your way was the only way. You've encouraged me to research my options and to learn. Great service! You have amazing knowledge, especially in plants, mapping, and water. I learned more about plants in a few months of working with you than all my other time farming! The installation works effortlessly without having to do much at all. "
